Job Summary: The Financial System Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of automated information systems. They will be involved in data gathering and analysis of methods and procedures; design recommendations in the form of user proposals, operational instructions and computer program specifications; and implementation and support involving systems testing and user training. An incumbent must possess a high level of expertise to enable the technical application of computer systems analyses.
Responsibilities:
oUpdates Rate Profile's in billing system for governmental and commercial payors for both Inpatient andOutpatient services
oMonitor and oversee successful calculations of billing systems when revised governmental rates are issued
oAssists the Patient Financial Services and Reimbursement departments with special reports Medicare, Medicad DSH Payors etc.
oPerform necessary updates to maintain accuracy on Bed Management, Insurance Master and other required updates as determined by Patient Financial Services and Reimbursement departments
oCoordinates SPARCS data for Valhalla and MHRH
oConducts detailed analysis and systems surveys of various Medical Center operations with a view toward applying automated information systems
oPerforms testing and evaluation of third party software application packages for applicability to needs as defined by system users
oRevises existing systems to increase efficiency
oPerform other tasks as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: 7 years of recent technical computer experience, 4 years of which the primary function of the position must have been in the analysis and design of computer based information systems.
Education:High school or equivalency diploma required, Bachelor's preferred

Special Requirements:Thorough knowledge of the requirements of business applications (Invision, Meditech etc.), business application software administration; good knowledge of organizational structure and its relation to work and data flow; ability to effectively use computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, calendar, email and database software; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; initiative; resourcefulness; sound judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
